Called a subbrow lift, or subbrow incision, this procedure is a solution for sagging upper eyelids that become more noticeable with age. In this procedure, an incision is made along the lower brow line and excess skin is removed. This can improve problems caused by aging and weakening of the orbicularis oculus muscle, which makes it difficult to open the eyes and narrows the width of the double-edged eyelid.
This sub-brow incision also has the advantage of less noticeable scarring and swelling compared to a regular upper eyelid incision. In addition, problems resulting from the need to lift the eyebrows, such as wrinkles on the forehead, can be eliminated. As a result, the natural look of the eyes can be maintained. Because of these characteristics, the lower brow incision technique is also used by many clinics.
