Lower brow lift (lower brow incision)

What is a lower brow lift (lower brow incision)?

Called a subbrow lift, or subbrow incision, this procedure is a solution for sagging upper eyelids that become more noticeable with age. In this procedure, an incision is made along the lower brow line and excess skin is removed. This can improve problems caused by aging and weakening of the orbicularis oculus muscle, which makes it difficult to open the eyes and narrows the width of the double-edged eyelid.

This sub-brow incision also has the advantage of less noticeable scarring and swelling compared to a regular upper eyelid incision. In addition, problems resulting from the need to lift the eyebrows, such as wrinkles on the forehead, can be eliminated. As a result, the natural look of the eyes can be maintained. Because of these characteristics, the lower brow incision technique is also used by many clinics.

List of concerns

  • Sagging eyelids narrow my field of vision and bother me.
  • I want to improve only the sagging eyelids and change their impression.
  • Thick and swollen eyelid problems
  • I want to make the double layer clearer and shorten the distance from my eyebrows to my eyes.

Characteristics of the brow lift (subglabellar incision)

Subbrow lift surgery removes excess skin just below the brow and corrects and reduces the incision to tighten drooping eyelids and define the shape of the eye area.

Sagging skin is often seen as a result of stress around the eyes, daily use of cell phones and computers, and use of eye stitches for double shaping. For these reasons, the use of a subbrow lift for people prone to sagging is on the rise, especially among younger people in their 20s.

Risks and Side Effects

Underbrow lift (subglabellar incision) surgery is associated with several risks and side effects.

First, there is the possible risk of infection, which can cause pain, swelling, fever, and other symptoms that require antibiotics and other treatments.

The possibility of scarring should also be considered. Because of the incisions required during surgery, scars may be visible. However, with proper care and the passage of time, scars will fade in many cases.

Bleeding and swelling are also common side effects; these are usually temporary, but in some cases recovery may take longer. If the swelling and bleeding are severe, additional treatment may be required.

Before undergoing surgery, it is important to fully understand these risks and side effects and to communicate fully with your physician. It is then important to follow the postoperative care instructions and adhere to the physician's advice.
