double grafting

What is double implantation?

Double Implantation is a type of cosmetic eye surgery that uses threads to create a simple double line on the eyelid. This procedure takes about 10 minutes to complete and is very popular among young people in their teens and twenties.

The major advantage of the double implantation method is that it requires no incisions or stitches, so the downtime is very short. Also, the results are natural, which is why it has been chosen by many people for a long time.

List of concerns

  • They want a natural change that looks like they've applied makeup.
  • I feel a difference between the left and right eye, and I want to eliminate it.
  • I want to reduce the time and effort required for eye make-up and eye patching.
  • The double width is getting narrower.

Characteristics of Double Implantation Method

There are two methods of double implantation: the "eyelid plate method" and the "raising muscle method".

[Raising muscle method]
The procedure is performed without threading the eyelid muscles (eyelid plate) directly, which reduces the possibility of postoperative damage to the eyeball.
Blepharoplasty]
A thread is threaded directly through the skin to the eyelid plate and then tied together to create a double line. This method is known for its relatively short downtime.

The double implantation procedure is a procedure that greatly affects the impression of the face, so it is necessary to carefully consider the safety and risks involved in the procedure. To avoid regrets after the procedure, it is necessary to be aware of the precautions to be taken in advance and during the consultation.

Some possible risks are that the procedure is not swollen, and the risk is that the threads are easily removed due to gentle clamping, etc. Also, in a few cases, symptoms of side effects such as eye discomfort, headache and stiffness in the shoulders may be observed.

In addition, a more defined look can be expected by having the procedure performed at the same time as the eyelid fat removal procedure. Since the fat is removed through a small hole in the eyelid without incision, there is almost no swelling or internal bleeding. The procedure takes about 20 minutes for both eyes and requires only local anesthesia.

2-point fastening
The two-point fixation is a procedure in which the eyelid is fixed in two places to form a double eyelid in the implantation technique. Unlike incisions, the implantation technique does not involve cutting the eyelid, but instead inserts a thin thread under the skin to form a double fold line according to the desired width of the double fold.
If the patient is not satisfied with the results, the threads can be removed to restore the original condition, but since the eyelids are only held in place by a thin thread, the threads may unravel depending on the individual's constitution.
The two-point clamping method has the advantage of less swelling because there is less tissue to fixate, but it also carries the risk of dislodging the threads in rare cases if they are rubbed too hard.
[Spontaneous adhesion method
The natural adhesion technique has recently been gaining attention for its ability to create a vivid and natural double-double fold line, and is gaining recognition even in South Korea, a major powerhouse in the beauty industry. As its name implies, the natural adhesion technique creates an ideal double fold line by inducing "adhesion" between the upper eyelid elevator muscle (the muscle that opens the eyelid) and the skin, a characteristic that creates a clear double fold line comparable to an incision.
In the natural adhesion method, microscopic holes are made in the eyelid and threads are used to create a complex continuous line to promote adhesion. This allows for a more natural and striking double-lid line compared to the implantation method.
[SECRET LAW
The secret method is to perform the procedure from the back of the eyelid, without inserting the needle into the surface of the eyelid, in order to leave as little scarring as possible.
Since no scar exists on the surface of the eyelid, eye makeup can be applied immediately after the procedure and swelling is very minimal, so it is difficult for people to notice that you have had a double-lid surgery and the result is natural.

Risks and Side Effects

Double implantation may have several possible risks and side effects. First, the left and right eyes may become asymmetrical after surgery. This risk is especially increased if the surgeon lacks skill and experience.

Occasionally, the threads may come off or the skin may not be properly secured, resulting in the loss of the double line. In this case, revision surgery may be necessary.

The risk of infection also exists, and if postoperative care is inadequate, bacterial infection is possible. This may result in symptoms such as swelling, pain, and redness.

In addition, discomfort and discomfort may be felt. In particular, closing and opening the eyelids may cause a pulling sensation and pain.

Risks and side effects of fat removal over the eyelids may include swelling, pain, and internal bleeding. Swelling peaks for a few days to a week after the procedure, but gradually subsides.

We recommend that you communicate with your doctor about any questions you have about the above risks and side effects until you are satisfied with the results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will there be significant swelling after the procedure?

A: Since the procedure is performed without incision, there is almost no swelling or bleeding. Downtime will settle down within a week or so after the procedure and will not interfere with daily life.

Q: Will double implantation last permanently?

A: It depends on your body type and lifestyle, but if you rub or your eyelids sag more, they may return to their original state in a few years. As much as it is possible to return to the original state by removing the threads, it is possible to redo the implantation procedure, so please mention any concerns you may have at any time.

Q: Can I use my contact lenses right away?

A: Please refrain from using contact lenses for about a week or so while symptoms settle. If you must use contact lenses, please consult with us.

Q: Which is better, double implantation or incision?

A: While the implantation technique is non-invasive and has very little downtime, it is inferior to the incision technique in terms of sustainability. Incisions offer more permanent results, but have disadvantages such as longer recovery time.
